Explaining Twitter
I’ve read a lot of posts on how to explain Twitter to someone. I have found my way, my script for explaining it. I thought I’d present it here in full.
Here goes:
I don’t. I’ve given up. I am finding that there are two groups of people, those that get it (or want to) and those that don’t.
If you don’t get it or don’t want to get it, guess what, you won’t. You’ll continue to think it’s about giving people needless updates or adding to the “noise.”
Is it about that? Sure, sometimes. Who hasn’t had a “I’m eating a burrito. Yummy!” Tweet now and again. We’re all guilty of this. But it’s so much more. The concept of community is lost on those who don’t get it.
And I am done trying to help the see the light.
