New Direction

So, here’s the thing, no one reads this blog. And you know, that’s cool. I mean, I haven’t posted to it in months. I’ve been so busy on the Twitter and Facebook that I’ve totally neglected blogging.

And really, do we “need” another blog?

No, no we don’t.

But I’m going to start up again anyway. But instead of a place to post random things I’m going to write here. I need the place to be creative. To write about things that matter to me.  I need to flex the skill.

So, I’m going to write about health here. Physical, emotional and most importantly Spiritual. I’m a Christian so the posts about Spiritual health will have a Christian edge to them, so you’ve been warned.

Well, you would have been if you read this.

I think we take health for granted and we’ve given it away to others to manage. This blog will be about taking it back. I’m going to write here about the ways I’m trying to seek out and manage my health. From nutrition, to counseling, to spending time with God.

Anyway, that’s the plan. If anyone read this, I’d hope they liked it. Since no one does, I’m going to write stuff I like.

So there.

Explaining Twitter

I’ve read a lot of posts on how to explain Twitter to someone. I have found my way, my script for explaining it. I thought I’d present it here in full.

Here goes:

I don’t. I’ve given up. I am finding that there are two groups of people, those that get it (or want to) and those that don’t.

If you don’t get it or don’t want to get it, guess what, you won’t. You’ll continue to think it’s about giving people needless updates or adding to the “noise.”

Is it about that? Sure, sometimes. Who hasn’t had a “I’m eating a burrito. Yummy!” Tweet now and again. We’re all guilty of this. But it’s so much more. The concept of community is lost on those who don’t get it.

And I am done trying to help the see the light.

These things drive me crazy. I mean, there’s a new law and all that makes it illegal to talk on the phone without one, but still, they make me nuts. I use mine in the car and only in the car. Even then, I take it out of my ear the second that call is over.I do not like it when people walk around with them in their ears all day. I can never tell if they’re talking to me or if they’re on the phone. This bothers me.Also, how important do you have to be to have it in your ear, ready to go at all times? And don’t tell me that you forget about it after a while. No you don’t. Liar.

I just finished reading (listening to via audible) this book. It’s awesome. Donald Miller gives some really great insights about what it means to be a Christian. It’s a cool one to listen to because Miller’s delivery is great. Sometimes an author can be a great writer, but not a great reader. He’s able to deliver his material in a great way.Check it out.

Oolong

So I don’t drink coffee. I don’t spend a bunch of money at Starbucks. I like to work at Starbucks (or, the Bucks) but I’m not a regular. If I work there I feel like I need to buy something there, so usually I get a tea.

I do drink tea. A lot of it. I enjoy tea. I like that if you switch between black, green and oolong (or even white) you can actually taste a difference between them. To me, coffee tastes like coffee, unless you add a flavor. If you add a flavor you don’t really like coffee, you like vanilla, or whatever.

So anyway, I like tea. My favorite is oolong (right Dr. Oz?) and it is really good for you too.

If you drink a lot of coffee give some tea a chance. Yes, it feels a little girly sometimes, but I find that if you speak with a British accent whilst you prepare your tea you don’t feel girly, you feel british.
